Spring is in the air, and Easter is just around the corner! It’s the perfect time to add some fresh seasonal DIY decor to your home. From delicate pressed flower frames to charming fabric carrots, these handmade decorations will bring a touch of seasonal cheer to your space. Let’s dive into some beautiful and creative Easter decor ideas!

Pressed Flower Frames with an Easter Touch

Pressed flowers are a stunning way to celebrate spring, and they make for elegant Easter decor when framed beautifully. Here’s how to create your own:

What You’ll Need:

  • • Fresh flowers (pansies, daisies, or wildflowers work well)
  • • Heavy books or a flower press
  • • Glass frame (floating frames and antique frames work best)
  • • Small Easter embellishments (like bunny cutouts or pastel ribbons)

Instructions:

  1. 1. Pick fresh flowers and press them between parchment paper inside a heavy book for about a week or two. To dry them more quickly, you can also use a microwave. Place the flowers on a microwave-safe plate, sandwich them between kitchen roll, and place a microwave-safe heavy dish on top to press them. Microwave in short bursts of 30 seconds checking after each burst until completely dry.
  2. 2. Once dried, arrange them inside a glass frame.
  3. 3. Add small Easter elements like a paper-cut bunny or a tiny painted egg to give it a seasonal twist or you can even arrange them in the shape of bunnies, carrots and eggs.
  4. Display your frame on a shelf, mantel, or as a centrepiece.

Handmade Fabric Carrots

Fabric carrots add a rustic and playful touch to your Easter decor. They look adorable in baskets or as part of a table centrepiece.

What You’ll Need:

  • • Orange fabric (cotton, linen, or burlap)
  • • Green felt or raffia for the tops
  • • Needle and thread (or a sewing machine)
  • • Stuffing (polyfill or scrap fabric)
  • • Hot glue gun (optional)

Instructions:

  1. 1. Cut a triangle shape from the orange fabric.
  2. 2. Fold it in half and sew along the edge, leaving the top open.
  3. 3. Turn it inside out and stuff it with polyfill.
  4. 4. Cut green felt into leaf shapes or use raffia for a more natural look.
  5. 5. Sew or glue the greenery into the top opening and stitch it closed.
  6. 6. Arrange them in a basket or tie them together with twine for a farmhouse-style bunting.
